No, with the barbecook® gas barbecue the heat is spread by a spreading plate which is located just above the burners. That means that you do not need lava stone. |

| Q. |
How long should my barbecook® pre-heat? |
| A. |
Close the lid and pre-heat the cooking surface for at least 10 minutes on the setting ‘HIGH’. If you want to cook on a lower temperature than the setting 'HIGH', then you will have to turn the regulating knob to the correct position before putting the food on the barbecue. If you use your gas barbecue for the first time, than you should ‘prepare’ the appliance by letting it cook for a short time without any food. In order to ‘prepare’ the barbecue you will have to light the barbecue. Close the lid and keep the temperature on ‘HIGH’, for fifteen minutes. Do not open the lid during this procedure. After this, open the lid and let the barbecue burn on ‘HIGH’ for another 5 minutes. The barbecue is now ready for use. |

| Q. |
Which pressure regulator do I need? |
| A. |
The hose and the regulator are not delivered with the product. You are only allowed to use a combination of hose and regulator which complies with all the local and national provisions and norms and which matches with the coupling of the used gas bottle and the gas type/the nominal pressure value which is mentioned on the barbecue. Keep the hose as short as possible. |

| Q. |
What is better, an enamelled, stainless steel or cast iron finishing ? |
| A. |
All the materials have their advantages, usually it is a question of personal preference. Email has the advantage of being rust resistant, that it fades little and it is easy to maintain. The use of sharp objects, bumping against a surface or causing thermal shocks needs to be avoided.
Stainless steel has the characteristic of being resistant to rust and being unbreakable. |

| Q. |
Which type of gas do I have to use? |
| A. |
Our gas barbecues work with propane or butane gas. We especially recommend propane gas since the combustion quality with propane is better and since this gas is less susceptible to frost than butane. Connection of our gas barbecues to natural gas is at this moment not possible. |
